Coopers Hawk

When looking out the kitchen window this afternoon, I spotted this fella.  He looked like a big blob until DH got the binoculars.  DH thought it was an owl but I thought it looked more like a hawk of some kind.  I ran for the camera which just had the normal lens and took several shots while DH got the zoom lens.  By the time we changed the lens I only got one shot before he flew off.  No time for the tripod so it isn't as clear as I would have liked and the morning coffee didn't help either.  lol  After he flew off we got the bird book out and discovered he was a Cooper's Hawk.

  1. Love hawks and birds of prey. You had a great chance to take this picture. We can't see this beautiful bird, the Cooper's Hawk lives only in America.
Thank you for your kind comment on my blog, this is very much appreciated.
